The Club features more than 20 Signature Groups and Clubs, each dedicated to a specific area of interest. These groups meet regularly throughout the year and provide numerous opportunities for members to learn and socialize. Areas of interest include Automobile Appreciation, Book Discussion, Genealogy, History, Poetry, Travel, Bridge and more. The Club also offers a variety of programs and classes that are sure to engage, enlighten and entertain. These include travelogues, health and fitness, the arts, and lunch and dinner programs featuring prominent speakers.
Members may also enroll in a variety of classes taught by professional instructors and Club members. These classes include topics such as Tai Chi, Oil Painting, the Culinary Arts and more. Club members are also encouraged to volunteer their time as committee members.
The City Club is considered by many to be the home of the best bridge games in southeast Michigan. American Contract Bridge League-sanctioned duplicate games are played three times a week. In addition, there are ACBL games for players with less than 300 points, and several social bridge groups that meet at various times each week. Classes for beginners through advanced players are regularly scheduled.
