The Guild of Artists and Artisans League of Women VotersPurposes: to promote community awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the visual arts, and to create a support network for professional artists and artisans Lawyer Mediator Group Purpose: The League of Women Voters, a non-partisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. PEO Chapter G Purpose: PEO is a philanthropic organization whose mission is to support educational opportunities for women. Five international projects are supported by our sisterhood each year. PEO Chapter W Purpose: PEO is a philanthropic organization. Our mission is the promotion of educational opportunities for women. We support a women's college, Cottey College. We have chapters through the US and the world. Society for Musical Arts Purposes: to support and provide regional musical artists by sponsoring two area music competitions: (1) collegiate level (SMA competition) and (2) for young musicians ages 13- 18 (Rosalie Edwards Competition. SMA sponsors a Wednesday morning concert series featuring regional artists in six concerts a year in fall and spring at AACC Events Room followed by Meet the Artist Luncheons.
